Tennille Marx
Naturopathic Physician
Tennille Marx, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Physician in Washington State. She received her doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, the leading center of natural health education and research. Dr. Marx also holds bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Colorado State University. She is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).
Dr. Marx has post-graduate clinical experience in her private practice in Kirkland. Dr. Marx has also been part of a research team in one of the few full-service, nutraceutical consulting companies in the world. She researched hundreds of herbs, vitamins and supplement formulations for their efficacy and safety. In addition, Dr. Marx has experience working internationally, including work with the Traditional Medicine Program at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Her work in Geneva included establishing international policies and standards for alternative practitioners worldwide.
Dr. Marx’s naturopathic practice reflects her whole body approach, focusing on the CAUSE of disease rather than treating the symptoms. She blends the best of lifestyle counseling, clinical nutrition, botanical and vitamin therapy, while incorporating cutting-edge research. Dr. Marx believes in a collaborative doctor/patient relationship. Her focus is educating and coaching her patients to embrace their health and achieve individual health goals. Dr. Marx specializes in women’s health, hormonal balancing, nutritional counseling and detoxification.
Shirley Blair, PsyD
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Blair is a licensed psychologist in Washington State. She received her doctorate from The Adlerian School of Professional Psychology, the oldest independent school of psychology in North America and accredited by the American Psychological Association. With campuses in Chicago and Vancouver, the Adler School is commited to continuing the work of Alfred Adler. Adler's teachings focused on a holistic perspective emphasizing the uniqueness and creativity of each individual in constructing their experiences and identifies the importance of the social environment in that process. Of all the life tasks, self-actualization was the ultimate task to achieve.
While Dr. Blair's theoretical orientation is based on Adlerian psychology, she takes an eclectic approach in order to meet the specific needs of each client utilizing the strengths of many psycholgical disciplines. She focuses on a person’s unique abilities and strengths to bring about positive change. Dr. Blair empowers individuals to identify thoughts, feelings and choices that are not working to their benefit and implement optimal alternatives for growth.
Dr. Blair has contributed her expertise to various radio and television programs regarding strategies for preventative mental health, optimal development, and self-actualization. She utilizes her many years in the business sector for vocational identification and direction. In addition, she provides seminars and presentations and has served as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University in Chicago.
